Gaskets

GASKETS

We can advise on any products or services that require sealing solution. We are capable of advising companies and design engineers on many aspects of gasket design, such as: material suitability, chemical resistance, temperature, pressure, and flange and metalwork implications.

The most common types of gaskets are:
  • Gaskets used in piping (flange gaskets)
  • Gaskets used in Transformers including Nitrile and Neoprene rubber gaskets
  • Gaskets with certain material properties (cork, rubber paper etc.)
  • Gaskets used for a particular function (for pressure, temperature, or chemical resistance)
  • Bespoke or custom made gaskets
1) Rubber Gaskets
2) Non Asbestos Gaskets
3) Cork Gaskets

Rubber Gaskets

1. EPDM GASKETS

Our company’s reputation for excellence has been built on our ability to provide our valued customers with the most effective engineering and manufacturing solutions to meet their most demanding applications. Our main objective is to continuously exceed our customer’s expectations by providing them with high performance gaskets and sealing products, competitive pricing, on-time delivery and exceptional customer service. AIP maintains a modern manufacturing facility along with knowledgeable, technically-oriented professionals enabling us to consistently meet all of your specifications and tolerance requirements.

AIP has over twenty years experience specializing in the manufacturing of precision die cut and molded EPDM rubber gaskets and seals for a wide range of industries and applications. EPDM rubber is one of the most popular, versatile materials available. EPDM is known for its excellent resistance to heat, ozone, sunlight and aging. Its distinctive ability to stabilize color and resist harsh weather conditions makes it and ideal choice for outdoor applications. EPDM features excellent resistance to water, steam, alkalis, acids and oxidants. It is also sulfur and peroxide curable. EPDM can withstand temperatures spanning from -40°F to 250°F, intermittent to +275°F.

2. PTFE GASKETS

AIP is a recognized leading manufacturer of high quality PTFE gaskets, seals, washers and insulators. Our company's reputation for excellence has been built on our ability to provide our valued customers with the most effective engineering and manufacturing solutions to meet their demanding applications. Our main aim is to continuously exceed our customer's expectations by providing them with high performance gaskets and sealing products, competitive pricing, on-time delivery and exceptional customer service. We maintain a modern manufacturing facility along with knowledgeable, technically-oriented professionals enabling us to consistently meet all your blueprint specifications and tolerance requirements.

3. NITRILE GASKETS

AIP has over 10years experience in the manufacturing and supply of precision molded nitrile (buna-n) rubber gaskets and seals for a wide range of industries and applications. Nitrile rubber, also known as Buna-N and NBR, is the most widely used elastomer for gaskets and seals. Its properties provide excellent resistance to oils, solvents, gasoline, and petroleum based fluids. Due to its resilience, nitrile is used in applications requiring resistance to extreme hot and cold temperatures, abrasion, water, and gas permeability. Nitrile rubber functions well in temperatures ranging from -40°F to +212°F, intermittent to +230°F.

4. OIL GASKETS

We manufacture oil gaskets, for example from nitrile rubber or gasket paper, resistant to solvents and fuels.

With no minimum order quantity, we will manufacture one-off specials.

We offer our customers complete material certification and traceability. Our quality system even allows for customers to control how their parts are manufactured.

We are quality assured to ISO 9001:2008, and ISO 14001: 2004.

5. High Temperature Gaskets

We manufacture high temperature gaskets for extreme applications and environments. For example, for steam and exhaust applications, we can supply graphite gaskets, that will function up to 550 degrees centigrade. Alternatively some rubber gaskets, such as silicone gaskets, will with stand temperatures of up to 400 degrees centigrade.

If you require a gasket to withstand a high temperature environment plase contact us for technical advice and a quotation.

6. Transformer Gaskets

We manufacture transformer gaskets for oil cooled transformers, and seals for electrical switchgear.

We offer our customers complete material certification and traceability. Our quality system even allows for customers to control how their parts are manufactured.

We can manufacture from sketch, sample, or technical drawing.

7. Pipe Gaskets

Pipe gaskets can be manufactured from many different gasket materials. The right material to use depends upon the application, and environment in which the gasket will be used. The contents of the pipe, including the range of temperatures and pressures under which it is expected to operate will dictate material selection. Material specification should also take into account the flange being used. If you are in doubt about which material you need, then please contact us for technical support. For example a non-asbestos fibre or graphite material can be specified for steam applications. For diesel or other fuels a non-asbestos fibre or quality nitrile rubber (BS 2751) should be used. Because of the extra additives in modern fuels, lower grade nitrile can be affected and break down. This is mistakenly blamed on the fuel itself when in reality it is caused by the corrosive nature of the additive.

If you are specifying for a particular chemical then please see our guide to gasket chemical resistance.
